Building a strong social network and social skills will support you in building influence. And the way you do that is you have to constantly focus on improving that. It's like everything in life. You know, if you're just like, "Oh, I wish I had more influence." But then you don't go and do anything about it, you don't go and try to build your network and have that conversation or increase your network, then it's going to really not even improve it at all. 

So, yes, you've got to work on the skills. But you've also got to work on the practice. And that's when you will really start to move the needle.
